About Me
Ni means “daughter of” in Irish. Ninoko is my studio for thoughtful, quietly distinctive design.
I’m a freelance art director and designer based in Scotland, working across branding, illustration, advertising, packaging, editorial design, and digital content.
My career began at the award‑winning creative agency Story in Edinburgh, before expanding into a wide range of creative roles — from brand identity and campaign development to book design, illustrated projects, and creative support for film and TV productions including Shetland, Outlander, Katie Morag, Bob Servant, and What We Did On Our Holidays.
For projects that need a broader skillset, I collaborate with a small freelance team I’ve worked with for over 20 years. Together, we can take a brand from concept to launch — covering copywriting, functional web design, social media content, photography, and strategic press campaigns. Our collective experience includes work for Highland Spring, Ian Macleod Distillers, Marks & Spencer, Ethex and many others.
Whether you need a single designer or a flexible creative team, I can help shape, build, and communicate your brand across every touchpoint.
If you’d like to discuss a project or arrange a chat, feel free to get in touch.

"I was lucky to have Roisin work with me on presentation of stage shows, television scripts and a series of small illustrated books. She is a real talent with terrific sense of style and discernment.
She has a rare combination of abilities - from script formatting and text editing to all kinds of visual work. Designing, art directing, compositing layouts - she does it all with élan and supreme efficiency.
Modest as she is clever - in multiple directions - she is an all excellent person to work with, and good company to boot."
